We are a general family practice, providing a comprehensive professional dental service, at convenient times to suit you. The Practice is committed to delivering a high quality, affordable, clinical and cosmetic dental service.

We provide various treatments from routine dental examinations and dental hygiene scale and polishes, pain emergencies, fillings, dentures, teeth whitening, crowns, dental implants and smile makeovers.

We are passionate about preventive dentistry and therefore encourage routine dental examinations and hygiene visits offering, diet advice and brushing techniques… for both adults and children.

We understand that some patient’s may suffer with anxiety when visiting the dentist and hope we can make visits less stressful. If you are anxious, let us know, so we can help you.

We like our clients to take an active role in their treatment, so please feel free to ask all the questions you need to - they are your teeth after all!

The Practice
There is one full time dentist and one full time dental therapist, so you will always see the same professionals. We have two dental treatment rooms at the practice; both are equipped with latest technology. We only use the leading dental materials so you can feel reassured that we do not compromise on quality. With rigorous cross infection prevention (sterilisation and decontamination) in a pleasing environment, you can relax in the chair!

Crane Dental is conveniently located centrally on the High Street (next to the NatWest Bank and Savill’s estate agents). Parking can be found immediately outside but is restricted to an hour. It is advised to park in the CO-OP super market FREE car park.

The Principal Dentist is Paul Newman, he qualified in 1993 at the renowned London Hospital, UK. His first qualified years were London based then he went to the other side of the world to practice in Sydney, Australia, where he began specialising in white fillings at a highly regarded practice.
Paul began working at The Crane Dental Surgery in 1997 and several years later took over the business and became the Practice Owner. He is a conscientious dentist, happy to listen, provide professional advice and most importantly, care for your teeth and mouth for your future.
Paul is committed to providing excellent patient care which has led him to undertake continuing professional development in not just clinical areas.

Rebecca Forster Diploma in Dental Hygiene and Therapy RCS Eng 2017

Rebecca has worked in dentistry since 2009 and qualified as a hygienist/therapist at Kings College Hospital in 2017. Whilst studying at Kings College London, Rebecca has gained an invaluable clinical education from working within several diverse clinics and brings this wealth of education to the patients here at Crane Dental.
For the past 3 years, Rebecca has trained at various locations including, community clinics providing dental care for patients with complex dental needs. Worked alongside specialists in full consultant clinics to provide dental hygiene, periodontal assessments and oral health instructions. Orthodontic clinics and the cleft palate clinic at St Thomas's Hospital.

In her spare time, Rebecca volunteered to provide independent emergency dental treatment and oral health advice at a temporary dental clinic located within the refugee camp 'The Jungle', Calais.

Rebecca provides Dental Hygiene, Oral Health Instructions, Periodontal Assessments, Children’s Treatments and Zoom! Whitening here at Crane Dental.

There is always a message service on the main telephone line when we are closed or extremely busy.

Cancellation Policy
Please give at least 48 business hours’ notice if you need to cancel your appointment, otherwise you may incur a fee.

If your appointment time becomes inconvenient for you, we are always happy to change it if you provide us with two business days’ notice. This allows us to schedule in a patient who may be in urgent need of our care.

Price List

Our philosophy is that budget should never be a barrier to healthy attractive teeth. We keep our quality high, but our prices lower - comparable, in fact to your average high street dentist. We offer a range of services ranging from dental emergency appointments, routine examinations, general and preventative dentistry right through to complex cosmetic smile make over's. The dentist will undoubtedly always try to see patient’s in pain during working hours. It is possible to arrange out of hour’s appointments, these are more expensive.

We have time allocated for emergency appointments throughout the day; these are available to both registered and non-registered patients. Call between 08.45 and 15.00 and we will do our best to see you on the day.

When the Crane Dental Surgery is closed, telephone calls will be diverted so you can speak to someone directly, twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. Just call 01580 713609.

Referrals

Crane Dental sometimes refers patients for specialist treatments, as sometimes we are not able to provide the service, such as surgery with general anaesthetics and orthodontics, etc. We believe that in recommending a specialist gives the patient the best overall result and long-term prognosis. All referral specialists are extremely experienced and qualified in a specific area of dentistry and in our opinion the best in the local area.

Courtesy Appointment Reminders

We operate an automated appointment reminder system either by voice to your normal land phone or voice/text message to your mobile phone. Please give your permission and indicate your preferred contact method which is located on your Dental History Form. However, whichever method you choose it can be changed or cancelled at any time.

Complaints Procedure

In this practice, we take complaints very seriously and try to ensure that all our patients are pleased with their experience of our service.
Please contact the Practice Manager if you wish to complain about any aspect of the service you have received. A copy of our complaints handling procedure is available upon request.

Privacy

The practice has adopted the following principles of confidentiality:
• Personal information about a patient is confidential in respect of that patient and to those providing the patient with health care;
• It should only be disclosed to those who would be unable to provide effective care and treatment without that information (the need to know concept); and
• Such information should not be disclosed to third parties without the consent of the patient except in certain specific circumstances described in our privacy policy.
