Digital x-rays are more comfortable and exposes our patients up to 90% less radiation than conventional x-rays. You will be exposed to less radiation from a full set of our x-rays than a short flight to Spain!
With the aid of a small camera that can go in your mouth we are able to give you a guided tour! It is a very useful tool for showing patients what the dentist is looking at and by finding a way of diagnosis and treatment planning.
Digital intra oral cameras enable you to see parts of your mouth that would ordinarily only been visible to your dentist/hygienist, allowing you to visualise what you could previously only imagine...
Digital photography enables us to:
The intraoral camera handpiece is approximately the size and shape of a dental mirror. It has a built-in light source, and serves as a tiny video camera that allows us to zoom in on one tooth with 25 times magnification, or give you a "video tour" of your entire mouth. The images are displayed on a television or computer monitor, so you'll be able to see problems such as worn or broken fillings, cracked teeth, plaque deposits, cavities next to fillings and excessive wear.
The intraoral camera allows you to be an active partner in your dental treatment by enabling you to see what we see inside your mouth. With a clear understanding of your dental conditions, you'll be able to make treatment decisions with confidence, after all they are your teeth!
The Wand® is the latest advancement in pain-reducing dentistry. It is a computer-controlled device used to administer anaesthetic - for virtually pain free injections!
It does not look or work like a "traditional" dental syringe or needle. The device looks like a ball point pen. Ideal for patients who are uncomfortable or phobic with this procedure.
Before administering injections with the Wand®, your dentist or dental therapist will rub a topical anaesthetic on the injection site. The Wand® delivers anaesthetic at a consistent pressure and volume, and adjusts to changes in tissue. Additionally, the anaesthetic is delivered first, insuring that the injection from the tiny needle will be painless.
